Bottle Line Control System Upgrade

Replaced all existing Allen-Bradley PLC2s with PLC5/40Es, networked via Ethernet. Added five operator workstations running Intellution FIX 6.0. Added several variable speed drives and modified conveying systems to provide operational flexibility by allowing multiple packaging lines to share multiple depalletizers and palletizers.

Programmed PLCs, developed FIX applications or all workstations, which include SQL queries against Sybase database to download pasteurizer setpoints.

Integration and programming involved the following major pieces of equipment: Depalletizer, Filler, Pasteurizer, Labellers, Packers and Palletizer, as well as all interconnecting conveyor systems.

Programming was completed and checked out in corporate offices, and PC & E performed construction supervision duties, checkout and startup.

Project was completed on time, meeting very tight time constraints, and under budget.
